GatoBet New Customer Offer
All eligible players who have signed up to GatoBet can take advantage of their new customer bonus when depositing for the first time. The headline offer is currently ‘Bet £10 & Get A £30 Free Bet’. To claim this welcome bonus, you must complete the following steps:
As well as the main qualifying criteria listed above, there are some additional terms to follow to be eligible to claim the new customer offer. We have summarised these below.
All the terms and conditions for this offer can be found at https://gatobet.com/?lp=welcome-sport.html.
Our first impression of GatoBet is that it was very colourful and set up slightly differently from other sportsbooks. The rotating carousel which housed all the offers dominated the page, with the left-hand navigation initially collapsed from view. We were redirected to the latest live event which randomly happened to be a Brazilian football match. This would require us to navigate through the pages to some of the more popular markets we assume many customers would be looking for and wasn’t ideal as a starting point.
When we looked at the left-hand navigation, we found that there was a quick list of popular competitions at the top followed by an extensive list of all the sporting markets available. The depth of these was impressive as we counted almost 40 at the time of this review. These ranged from Football, Cricket, Tennis, Golf, and Horse Racing through to international sports such as American Football, Aussie Rules, Baseball, and Basketball. Non-sporting markets were also available with bets being offered on the next President of the United States as well as the winner of the next Strictly Come Dancing competition.
Nestled amongst all the real-life sports were options to bet on various eSports games. There was a huge range of betting markets that were available on Counter Strike, StarCraft, and League of Legends. GatoBet has this space well-covered as there are odds on competitions happening all over the world including on the upcoming World Championships across some of these games. This ensures they are in a prime position to help the brand grow in the ever-expanding eSports market.
After exploring the site, we wanted to delve into the markets and assess how easy it was to find and place a wager. The football homepage has all the upcoming fixtures laid out along with shortcuts to get you to other competitions of interest. Unfortunately, the modules were a little clunky and covered the view of some selected markets. Once we had chosen the Premier League as our preferred choice, markets for an upcoming Brazilian game remained on the right-hand side of the page. This meant that our chosen market remained hidden until we closed the list of sports on the left. Some work needs to be done on the usability of the site in order to make it more functional.
GatoBet Chosen Markets Being Covered From View
We settled on the latest round of Premier League games and were glad to see that some of the upcoming fixtures offered around 350+ markets to choose from. This was a huge selection and we were impressed, as we haven’t seen many others that could compete on such a high scale. This ensures a high probability that any bets new and existing customers would want covered, are offered and available.
GatoBet Premier League Homepage
We proceeded to review the Liverpool v Arsenal game which opened up the markets towards the right-hand side of the screen. There were small green icons that outlined which markets would be available for cash out and knowing this functionality was built in was a huge plus.
Once we went through to the fixture of our choice, there is a scroll at the top of the market selections which acts as a shortcut to specific categories. These offered all the core markets including goalscorers, corners, cards, overall result, and handicaps.
We made our selection which immediately populated the bet slip, allowing us to view the stake and possible returns.
GatoBet Placing A Bet
The processing of the bet was extremely quick and updated almost instantly. When navigated to the ‘My Bets’ section, we could see our open bet with all the details of the wager.
GatoBet Open Bets
Within this section, we could see that GatoBet gives players the opportunity to cash out their bets. Just hover over and click the current amount available and this will open a pop-up which allows you to fully cash out the wager at the value being offered. We didn’t see a partial cash-out tab but did see that players had the flexibility to create a cash-out rule to automatically lock in an amount if it reaches a certain value. This was great as it afforded players more flexibility over their wagers. You can look to lock in a profit before the event has finished or minimise any losses which greatly enhances the online experience.
GatoBet Manual & Auto Cash Out Function
We were also pleased to find some additional features which we haven’t come across much, even with some of the bigger operators. Players are able to build multi-views so they can monitor the markets of various events. We have seen these in trading platforms where various ladder and market views can be created, pinned and organised on-screen so as to trade multiple events at once.
GatoBet Multi-View Functionality
GatoBet Built Out Multi-Views
Finally, we wanted to see how easy it was to build an accumulator and get updated odds on multiple selections through the online bet slip. We chose three further results and saw that it automatically started building the ACCA and gave updated odds after each selection was added. This allowed us to play around with the stakes and potential returns before settling on the final bet.
GatoBet Building An Accumulator
The entire process of picking and finalising selections was very intuitive and we were extremely happy with the process onsite. This should improve further as the team builds out the functionality further which is exciting for all current and future players.
Currently, GatoBet does not have a live streaming facility and this is something of a drawback for an operator looking to make waves in a crowded market. This feature is the perfect way for players to complement their in-play betting and make selections both before and during the game. There are graphical illustrations as events are taking place which gives a detailed view of how the action is unfolding.
We found GatoBet’s in-play visualisations more detailed than many other operators, as it had a graphical timeline of key events throughout the game, as well as all the match stats.
GatoBet In-Play Visualisations
Unfortunately, this doesn’t quite capture the whole live experience and is something GatoBet could look to implement in the future.
There is a loyalty program in place but unfortunately, this is only available on their casino product. We checked in with customer services to confirm this and although it is disappointing, we hope that once the brand becomes more established, it will be rolled out for sportsbook customers as well.
They did mention that their account teams keep an eye on those wagering on sports and that bonuses can be made available on an account by account basis. However, we are discounting this as a dedicated program as it has no defined structure and hopefully, the casino program extends out to sportsbook players in the future.
GatoBet takes the security of all its members very seriously and uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure customer details are secure.
They currently deploy the latest 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure that sensitive data is completely private. All data is protected by the latest firewall. All your personal information is kept confidential and secure and is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.
As a regulated operator, they are subjected to the highest standards and need to prove their security systems measure up when getting licensed.
Based on the above, we certainly don’t have any grave concerns about privacy and data security when using GatoBet online.
The sportsbook has a dedicated customer service team who are available through a variety of channels. Find their various contact details and opening times below:
Email Address: [email protected]
Live Chat Link: Available onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
There’s also a contact form on site to send through any queries.
On the whole, we are rating our GatoBet experience as ‘Decent’. The site is laid out to be aesthetically pleasing and much of it is dominated by the rotating banners at the top. Unfortunately, there are issues with the usability where some modules and navigation bars go over market selections and have to be manually manipulated to bring them in view again. We feel some work can be done to improve the usability of the site, but the initial bones are good.
The registration and deposit process was straightforward and we were able to fund our account without any issues. We did however find that GatoBet applies a £2.50 charge for all withdrawal requests and this is not ideal for a new bookie looking appeal to new customers. Many of the leading operators allow withdrawals for free and if someone has deposited £10 and wanted to take that out, they effectively lose 25% of their stake.
On the initial view, we were excited about the new customer offer as it seemed to offer real value. Receiving £30 in free bets after depositing £10 was certainly rich but there are some terms which make it more complicated than it needs to be. Players must wager through their bonus 10 times in order to be able to retrieve it and this must be done within 5 days of it being made available. Market odds must also be at evens or greater. With such onerous wagering requirements, we feel the offer can be equally off-putting as it is enticing and should be simplified to appeal to more customers.
The depth of markets on major events were some of the most extensive we have seen, with upcoming Premier League games offering over 350 markets. This was huge and ensured that there was plenty for punters to delve in to. Players could have flexibility over their wager via the cash-out function and trade multiple games at a time through the multi-view builder. The in-play visualisations were also very pleasing to the eye and provided detailed match stats for players to use.
However, the lack of a live streaming service or loyalty program which extends to sportsbook customers hurts the perception of GatoBet, especially with punters looking for value.
In conclusion, we are happy with how GatoBet has looked to distinguish itself and feel that it has a good offering for a brand which is in its infancy. If the team can continue to add to the onsite functionality and address the issues highlighted in this review, then they will more than compete against the established players and continue their growth in the coming years.
