Kindred Group’s flagship sportsbook company, Unibet, has confirmed its support for the #GoRacingGreen initiative through British horseracing. The project aims to make the sport accessible for racegoers that suffer from mental health issues.
“Tackling mental health is at the core of Kindred’s commitment to become the sponsor of choice for sporting organizations and their communities and reinvent sponsorship so that it benefits places and societies,” said Ed Nicholson, Head of Kindred Group UK.
Unibet generously contributed to the #GoRacingGreen charity, helping them create a mental health support network across the UK racetracks. The operator will also donate 1-in-3 of its UK racing advertising sports to help promote the cause.
Businesswoman and racing enthusiast, Deborah Matthews, stands behind the initiative and described the donation as a “fantastic boost.”
Matthews established the #GoRacingGreen in 2019 after blogging about how equine sports helped her overcome her mental health challenges. Now, she wants to help others who are struggling with depression, autism, ADHD, PTSD, low self-esteem, and loneliness. The project has been recognized by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and the Racecourse Association (RCA) as headline charity initiative. Unibet is the first betting operator to support the project.
