The United Kingdom Gambling Commission (UKGC) has launched another public campaign – “9 ways to keep yourself safe when gambling.” The main goal of the campaign is to raise the awareness of safe gambling tools that can be used during gaming, as well as facilities, and support groups such as GambleAware and GamCare.
The campaign aims to provide full guidance on how casino punters can manage their money and time spent in online casinos. The Commission also reminds the public that all operators holding the UKGC license are obliged to provide users with their playing history and inform about possible choices regarding their habits and consumption of gambling content.
Furthermore, the campaign is focused on features such as game alerts, pop-up reminders, and deposit and wagering limits. UKGC recommends users to “set limits on their spend” before playing their first-hand or making the first spin at their favorite casino, and undertake “reality checks” on why they are gambling.
The authority also suggests that players take a break from gambling and request exclusion of up to six weeks should they feel they are developing a problem.
