The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has announced that this year’s Safer Gambling Week will take place from 19th to 25th November. The event will be organized in partnership with the Bingo Association and the British Amusement Catering Trade Association, under the slogan “Let’s Talk about Safer Gambling”.
Formerly known as Responsible Gambling Week, the six-day event will focus on uniting the industry in a discussion about customer protection and safe gambling. This awareness campaign is now in its fourth year and has achieved a significant increase in the engagement at all levels.
Michael Dugher, CEO of the BGC, commented: “As the new body representing the betting and gaming industry, the BGC is committed to driving up standards and promoting safer gambling.”
Dugher stated that Safer Gambling Week is a fantastic initiative, and how all BGC members are determined to raise standards. He also explained how this year’s campaign can point to significant changes that have already been introduced such as an enhanced ID and age verification process, no more advertising during sports matches, and a ban of credit cards as payment methods for online platforms.
