German gambling and gaming company, Gauselmann group, has launched their Merkur Slots brand in Southall, Hornchurch, Lancaster, Saltash, and Bolton. The popular chain of arcades will also open their doors in Wolverhampton later this week on July 15.
Merkur Slots is known as one of the leading brands in digital entertainment for adults, including games provided by Gauselmann’s in-house developer, Blueprint. All new venues will follow guidelines regarding COVID-19, with the Gauselmann group implementing an “Open, Clean, Safe” campaign. Safety measures include sanitization of all machines and inventory, perspex screens, social distancing between customers, stations with hand sanitizers, obligatory facial masks, and more.
Mark Schertle, COO at Gauselmann Group, says they are looking forward to welcoming customers back to gaming and added: “This is a very exciting time for Merkur Slots. So many companies haven’t survived the effects of the pandemic and we are delighted to be able to give customers a brand-new experience in locations where we don’t currently have a presence. It means a lot to us to be a part of kick-starting the high street again and supporting the local community with new job opportunities.”
